JANUARY 15 2013
Story on The State newspaper, front page. Still slinging around the "racist" statement even though it's not a racist rant toward anyone.

The Huffington Post and MSN reported Taco Cid employees are FORCED to wear the shirts as an employee uniform. They have corrected this in their reporting. Thank you.
TACO CID RUNS ON CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS
I still hold strong to the fact that our shirts are not racist towards any one ethnic group(s). And I strongly believe we all have the right to express ourselves. It’s our constitutional right to freedom of expression, belief and right to free speech.
I understand there are those who do not agree with our shirts. I respect that and their right to express it, as long as it is within the confines of the law and does not threaten or harm me, my family, my customers or my property. However, many groups and persons have made false accusations about Taco Cid — ranging from poor food quality, reports of unhealthy conditions, and so on.
The fact is, we passed our most current DHEC inspection, just the other week, with a 98 (A Rating). One point off for an improperly lit area and one point off for caulking required around the base of a commode. There were no food violations — our food is fresh and prepared in a clean establishment.
Some media outlets have almost demanded to know what Taco Cid would be doing with the money from our T-shirt sales. To satisfy those interested, the money is being invested back into Taco Cid — making building improvements, paying bills, and researching new food ideas. Simply put, the money is being used to make our customer's experience more enjoyable and even more satisfying.
I am a young business woman who wanted to own a Mexican restaurant, because I LOVE Mexican food. The opportunity to pursue my dream presented itself and I stepped out on faith that I could do it. So to call Taco Cid a racist establishment when we work hard to prepare food this culture's foods makes no sense. Every day, I personally prepare the freshest and highest quality of Mexican foods, with a twist of my own. At the same time, I am thankful to the local business community for supporting us, as we also support them through product and supply purchases.
A huge thank you to our customers and supporters. And I appreciate and ask the local media to provide a fair and balanced view.
Yes, our shirts are for sale to the public.

We are still amazed as to how people are reacting to our t-shirts "how to catch an ILLEGAL immigrant".
We serve every individual with the same quality of service, and respect in a friendly and welcoming manner.
As income tax paying Americans, we believe ILLEGAL immigrants are burdening the system we support and live under. This cause us, and all citizens and legal immigrants, to work harder and pay higher taxes to support the illegal activities which our government has turned a blind eye towards. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, is heading up immigration reform. The driving force behind reform is the estimated trillions in revenue to be collected from the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. At the same time, we support the immigration reform so that everyone will pay their fair share in taxes and be protected equally by the U.S. Constitution and state laws.
If you agree with our view on American Equality in citizenship, legalization and tax fairness, then show your support and come join us for lunch or dinner. If you do not agree, we understand.
Regardless of your views, if you patron our establishment, we look forward to serving you!
We are open Monday through Saturday and closed Sundays.
